Some habitats can heal in real time after suffering environmental damage. The Arctic is not one of them.

An oil spill off the coast of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge would not just be disastrous, but irreversible: there is no technology capable of cleaning up oil in the frigid, icy conditions of the Arctic.

And the thick, black sludge of an oil spill in the Arctic Refuge itself would be an almost certain death sentence for the polar bears, seals, birds, and other animals that come into contact with it.

Moreover what ever happens to the arctic has a direct co relation to what happens to the rest of the world. 

we have seen that already with the climate change.

Leave it in the ground.
